WCTE 2011 Writing Initiative Celebrating Teachers
| Description: |
The Wisconsin Teachers of English is proud to promote a state-wide writing initiative. We invite writers of all ages to submit writing for publication in this online writing gallery. This year's theme, The Power of Teaching, should reflect response to the following prompt: Teachers play a vital role in society--they cultivate knowledge in young minds, help students' ideas and abilities grow, and watch with pride as their subjects blossom into mature, creative, intelligent thinkers. Many of us have experienced the powerful, positive impact that a teacher can have on our lives, our way of thinking, and our visions of the future. Who was that teacher for you? Help us celebrate the power of teaching by telling us about a point in time when a teacher made an important, memorable difference in your life.
Please include your name, city, and e-mail; your age/ grade or occupation; and your writing subject's name (teacher) and the school's name where he/she teaches/taught. |
Essays will address the impact teachers have had on individuals. Emphasis will be on authentic voice within the story of the relationship between teachers and students.
You are eligible to submit one composition (or a link to a composition already posted on the Internet) per gallery. You should not submit the same composition to more than one gallery. When you click "contribute my writing now," you will be prompted for information about your piece and about yourself. You can share this information with readers through the site search engine, or to keep it sheltered from searches. The more information you allow to be public, the more readers for your piece.
Please visit Gallery Guidelines prior to submitting a contribution to the National Gallery of Writing.
