The meaning of liberal education in the twenty-first century |
| Description: |
Liberal education has always been a remarkably dynamic tradition, and it is currently evolving and being adapted to better prepare college graduates for the complex realities of the new global century. Drawing from a broad range of constituencies—both on and off college and university campuses--and using a variety of modes of written and visual communication, the AAC&U Gallery exhibits contemporary explorations of the meaning of liberal education. We welcome submissions from students at all levels, including K-12, who address teaching and learning in the contemporary world. We likewise welcome submissions from faculty at all levels, addressing high-impact or highly effective teaching and learning practices, program and course design, or topics related to the Liberal Education and America’s Promise (LEAP) initiative. |
AAC&U is the leading national association concerned with the quality, vitality, and public standing of undergraduate liberal education. Its members are committed to extending the advantages of a liberal education to all students, regardless of academic specialization or intended career. Founded in 1915, AAC&U now comprises 1,200 member institutions—including accredited public and private colleges and universities of every type and size.
