Family portraits painted through the writings of family members |
| Description: |
The writings of families and practitioners who work with families across the nation fill this gallery with portraits. The portraits are intricately painted through the notes, essays, drawings, poems, and stories of parents, other caregivers, children, grandparents and other family members as they write to, for and about each other. |
The National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL) is the worldwide leader in family literacy, an approach that leverages the power of the family to help families escape poverty through education. More than 1 million families have made positive educational and economic gains as a result of NCFL’s work, which includes training more than 150,000 teachers and thousands of volunteers.
You are eligible to submit one composition (or a link to a composition already posted on the Internet) per gallery. You should not submit the same composition to more than one gallery. When you click "contribute my writing now," you will be prompted for information about your piece and about yourself. You can share this information with readers through the site search engine, or to keep it sheltered from searches. The more information you allow to be public, the more readers for your piece.
Please visit Gallery Guidelines prior to submitting a contribution to the National Gallery of Writing.
