What should I write about, my love?
What should I say today?
Your parting gift-an aching pain
Which clouds my every day?
Or better still, your absence then
That fills my weeping heart
The bonds that broke, the ties that snapped
And tossed us far apart.
What should I say, my dear I pray
Where do I now begin?
The memories you have left behind
Those haunt me like a sin.
Your smile, your words, your eyes, your love
The moments we would share
My life so stripped of your tender touch
A life so cold and bare
What can I write, what will I say?
Of days so stopped in time?
Or a heart bereft of happiness
Without a song or rhyme.
How will it end, where should I stop?
Pray tell me, please do.
Cause the more I try to forget it all
The more I think of you.
Time heals all, that’s what they say
Perhaps it is not true,
You are gone from my life, a life which now,
Is a darker shade of blue.
I look ahead, I look beyond
To mend my broken heart
I try to heal, I try to smile
To make a fresh, new start.
Move on says the world, get over it!
And start a life anew
Answer me, how do I start?
When I am still so in love with you.
